Description
If the royal guard is defending the Craftworld Equestria, he will be the one leading them. Prince Shinging Armor of the Crystal Empire, captain of the Canterlot royal guard is ready.
His sister, Princess Twilight Sparkle, is a hero. He is not. His Wife, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, is an immortal alicorn. He is not. Luna and Celestia bestowed him with two of the most powerful swords Equestria has ever known, now it is his task to wield them.
Heros can't be everywhere. Alicorn princesses can't always defend their subjects. But he is neither hero nor alicorn. He is the first amongst Equestria's soldiers. He will always be in the dark places that need to be defended. He will be where the princesses can't. Shining Armor will protect Equestria.
Yeah, I'll admit, that fluff text might put it on a bit thick, but hey, sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do.
Anyway, this model is, rules wise, an eldar Autarch. Those guys are the ultimate military leaders, centuries of experience and near unmatched martial prowess.
The model itself is originally an 10th Aniversary Limited Edition of Achilless. I got it from Ebay and in the Box were two variants of Achilles, each with one sword. So I first decided to give Shining two swords, then I had a pack of bits with a bunch of different heads and found a spartan one on there. I immediately knew he would get that head.
So yeah, here we have, Shining Armor in his heavy battle armor, as seen in "Canterlot Wedding" and many other episodes he was in. The swords are painted in the colors of Celestia's and Luna's magic, one for each of them and on the few unarmored parts you can still see the white of Shining himself. I had great fun paintng him up and are really proud of him.
The shot to the right is mainly for the ladies to be honest, enjoy the look of the royal flank.
